Well, as they say, "here we go again!" This morning, a sturdy packed box containing yet another absolutely gorgeous big scale release from Paul and Suzy Fisher…no surprise here. As in the past the casting and fit are flawless with no warps or pinholes anywhere. When one opens the kit, the feeling that everything was hand crafted and packed in tissue with great care is most apparent.

For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of owning and building one of Paul's kits, you really should. They are all nothing short of magnificent, with this one being no exception. It has been almost 2 years since Paul released the single seat version of the Hawker Sea Fury (see my review) and that release set the bar for the big scale market. I am here to tell you that there are some distinct improvements over the single seater. The most apparent is the fact that Paul has given you the choice as to whether or not to order the kit with a much simpler set of wing folds or to keep them extended. (NOTE: When ordering the kit, you'll need to specify your choice, in that it will come with one or the other). Images show both options and whatever your choice, I'm certain you'll be pleased. If you've had the opportunity to check my previous build, you'll note that folding the wings was a much more difficult operation. Again, I'll choose wings folded which this time will be much simpler. As you can see, the fuselage is a hollow one piece affair and the wing is a single piece (or three piece depending on folded or not), that fits up into the opening like a glove. Very little filler will be used. In this case, unlike its predecessor, the wheel well detail is already molded into the center section…again, much easier for the builder.

Moving down the parts list, the 2 place cockpit, mastered by Roy Sutherland is superb! The resin castings coupled with the beautiful photo etched parts make up into one of the most realistic presentations yet. It's a shame that the openings are so small, that in combination with the entire interior being matte black, the details won't show up as well as could be.

The cowling, exhaust pipes and cooling gills are cast separately and may be positioned as desired. The prop hub/spinner comes with a cast resin jig for perfect alignment of the blades. The engine, while nicely cast, all but disappears when the prop and spinner are installed. The landing gear is mastered by Ernie Fee (G-Factor) and is cast very nicely in brass. The wheels and hubs are separate and will make painting a snap. The external stores are all included, with tanks, rockets and rails.

One of my favorite advantages of Fisher kits is the simple set of step by step photo instructions, that if followed, are in essence "fool proof".

As another point of fact, Paul has taken the casting of clear resin to an art form … these canopies are crystal clear and flawless. The decals offer markings for three aircraft:
· T-20, VZ346, BR/273 Fleet Air Arm (silver lacquer)
· T-20, D-CAMI, Target Tug. German A.F. and Navy (bright red)
· T-20, D-CACY, Target Tug. German A.F. and Navy (bright red)

I am truly looking forward to the build of this magnificent beast and at this point, I am considering something a bit different … more on this later!! Watch this site for a full build article of this outstanding kit. Check out their website for other great choices from these fine folks.

My sincere thanks to Paul Fisher of Fisher Models for the review sample.

Most highly recommended.
