First off, this kit is an Accurate Miniatures release of the Special Hobby F2G-1 released earlier last year. It is a great looking kit. Please check the IPMS review by Ed Kinney on this website.

Opening the typically sturdy Accurate Miniatures box, you will find about 70 light gray plastic pieces on three sprues, 66 ivory colored resin pieces, (mostly for the engine) a photo fret, two vacuform canopies and a decal sheet with markings for four different aircraft.

The gray parts are very well molded with no flash that I can see without a magnifier glass. There is considerable flash on the resin parts but that is to be expected on limited run kits. The two canopies are crisp and clear, you won't need to polish or dip them in Future. The photo fret was made for Special Hobby in the Czech Republic, likely by Eduard.

The building of this model promises to be a challenge and will probably take several weeks to complete. Look for part two of this review to follow.
